How to Sell Game Keys Online with Instant Delivery
October 2, 2026
Selling game keys is one of the simplest digital businesses to start: there is no shipping, no inventory to store and buyers expect delivery in seconds. It is also one of the easiest to get wrong. Slow delivery, duplicated keys and fraud eat into margins fast. This guide walks through how to set up a game key store that delivers itself, keeps your stock safe and turns first-time buyers into regulars.
1. Decide what you will sell
Most key sellers focus on one or two of these:
- Steam, Epic, Xbox or PlayStation keys for full games and DLC
- Gift cards and wallet codes in different regions and denominations
- Software and OS licences that are often bought alongside games
Pick a niche you can source reliably. A smaller catalogue that is always in stock beats a huge one that is often sold out.
2. Use product options for regions and editions
Buyers search for exactly what they need: "Elden Ring Steam key Europe" or "Xbox gift card 50 USD". Instead of creating a separate product for every combination, create one product with options (variants) for each region or edition. Each option has its own price and its own stock, so a sold-out region never blocks the others.
Name the product the way buyers search. "Elden Ring — Steam Key (Global)" will be found far more often than "ER PC".
3. Upload keys in bulk and let delivery happen automatically
On SellPass you paste or upload your keys, one per line. Duplicates are removed automatically, and each key is stored encrypted. When a buyer pays, one key is reserved and delivered on the order page and by email straight away, with no manual step.
Two things make this safe:
- Reservation at checkout. Stock is held while the buyer pays, so two people can never receive the same key.
- Low-stock alerts. You are told before a product sells out, not after.
4. Offer the payment methods your buyers use
Gamers pay in different ways. Card and PayPal are expected, and many buyers prefer crypto for privacy or because cards are hard to use in their country. With SellPass you connect your own Stripe, PayPal and Cryptomo accounts, so the money goes straight to you rather than sitting with a platform.
5. Protect yourself from fraud
Key stores are a target for stolen cards because keys can be resold instantly. Turn on these protections from day one:
- Block disposable email domains and known bad emails or IPs
- Flag orders from risky countries or VPNs for a quick manual check
- Limit how many orders one IP can place in a short time
SellPass's Fraud Shield does all of this, and flagged orders wait for your approval before anything is delivered. Read more in our guide to reducing fraud and chargebacks.
6. Handle sold-out products without losing sales
When a popular key runs out, you have two good options:
- Restock waitlist. Buyers tap "Notify me" and get an email or Telegram message the moment you add stock. You also see how many people are waiting, which tells you what to restock first.
- Pre-orders. Let buyers pay now. Their orders are delivered automatically, oldest first, as soon as new keys arrive.
7. Bring buyers back
The first sale is the hardest. After that:
- Use flash sales with a countdown for launches and weekends
- Offer bundles ("Game + DLC") at a small discount
- Switch on abandoned-checkout reminders with a single-use coupon
- Reward repeat buyers with store credit on every order
8. Get found
List your store on the SellPass marketplace, where buyers search across stores, and connect a Telegram shop bot so your community can buy without leaving the chat. Every product page also comes with search-friendly titles, descriptions and rich results, so Google can show your price and stock.
