How to Sell Digital Products on Telegram: Shop Bots and Mini App Stores

A huge share of digital-goods buyers already spend their day in Telegram. They follow channels, join groups and ask sellers questions there. Sending them to a website to finish a purchase adds friction, and every extra step loses sales. The good news: you can now sell entirely inside Telegram.

This guide covers the two ways to do it, a shop bot and a Mini App store, and how to set both up in a few minutes.

Option 1: a Telegram shop bot

A shop bot is a Telegram bot that knows your catalogue. Buyers send /start, tap through your products, pick an option and a payment method, type their email and receive a payment link. When the payment arrives, the bot messages them that their order is ready.

It works well for:

Small catalogues where buyers know what they want
Repeat buyers who just want to re-order quickly
Channels where you post a product and link straight to the bot

Option 2: a Telegram Mini App store

A Mini App is a full web store that opens inside Telegram, with product images, a search box, options, a cart and checkout. Buyers tap the Shop button next to the message field and browse just like on a website, without leaving the chat.

It is the better choice when you have more products, sell bundles or want buyers to add several items to one order.

How to set it up

Open @BotFather in Telegram and send /newbot. Choose a name and a username ending in "bot".
Copy the token BotFather gives you.
In your SellPass dashboard, go to Integrations → Shop bots and paste the token.
That's it. The bot is connected, its commands are set, and the Shop button opens your Mini App.

Share your bot link (https://t.me/yourbot) in your channel description, pinned messages and posts.

Getting paid

Telegram buyers pay with the same methods as your website: card, PayPal or crypto through your own Stripe, PayPal and Cryptomo accounts. Orders from Telegram appear in your dashboard next to web orders, with the same delivery, receipts and support.

Tips for selling on Telegram

Pin a "how to buy" message with your bot link and a screenshot of the Shop button.
Post drops as flash sales. A countdown in the product creates urgency, and buyers can buy without leaving the post.
Use the restock waitlist. When something sells out, buyers can ask to be notified and get a Telegram message the moment it is back.
Answer questions fast. Your store's live chat turns every question into a support ticket you can reply to from the dashboard.
